Summer Break 2009

We took the summer off of blogging. But, it's now time to catch up. Here are some of the highlights!

Thrill Seekers

Our neighbor, John Daley, was kind enough to take our kids for a ride on his motorcycle. Brooke and Jake both loved it the most (not a big surprise!)

Easter 2009

For the past couple of years we have gone to the Felt family Easter party on the Saturday before Easter. They live out in Lincoln on several acres, and they hide eggs in their big pasture. This year they had a skydiver come, which was pretty cool. They also had a stage and some music being played by some of the youth - including our very own, Made In China! It was a great time!

Spilt (Chocolate) Milk

Jake loves chocolate milk. The other day he spilled his chocolate milk on the floor, and just couldn't resist "drinking" it up! Take a look...

Make A Wish

So, I think Ben is the luckiest kid in the world. Or, at least he has the coolest parents and friends! For those who don't know, Ben is a big LA Lakers fan. Pretty tough being a Lakers fan in King's country. But, the stars recently aligned for Ben, and thanks to some great friends, we were able to give Ben a night he probably won't forget at the recent Kings vs Lakers game! We kept it a secret from Ben until we got to the Arena - and we blew his mind! Here's a quick summary:

1) One of our friends was kind enough to share his super-fantastic-totally-awesome 6th row Kings vs Lakers tickets with Ben and me. Not only are the seats so close to the court, but they happen to be right behind the visitors' bench! Can't get much better than this! Thanks for a great time John and Sam!

2) To top things off, another one of our friends prints the jerseys for the Kings. He was kind enough to get VIP passes for all of us! We got to eat in the VIP lounge, walk through the players tunnel, go on the court during pre-game warm ups, and generally act like Big Shots for the night. It was pretty fun having security start to yell at us for going in restricted areas - only to then see our VIP pass, and say, "Oh, sorry. Please proceed!" Mike - you are the coolest - thanks for the hookup!

Day Trip to SF!

Robynn, Dave, Chris and Dawn went on a day trip to San Franciso. We were able to visit our friend Jeff Abel who has been in the hospital in SF for a month now. It was good to see him! We also took the opportunity to visit a diner in Pacifica that we saw on the show, Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. It was called Gorilla's BBQ, and it is located right off Hwy 1. We got there early enough to be first in line, and we ordered more ribs, brisket and pulled pork than we could eat. We then went across the street and spent some time at the beach! You will see Robynn laughing in the picture at the beach - Chris fell in a tidepool (she is so heartless!)!

Happy Birthday Brooke!

Brooke turned 7 years old on Feb. 22! She had her friends over for a "rock-n-roll" themed party - with special guests "Made In China." Brooke had a blast!

February 2009 Snow Trip

This past weekend we travelled to Tahoe with our friends, the Carters. Kitty and Ian were kind enough to share their family cabin with us. It's a great little cabin in Tahoma, on the west shore. We hung out, played Uno and the Wii all night long, and even went skiing and sledding. We went sledding on a hill that led directly down into the lake. Beautiful - and Loads of fun!
